When she finally visited Sixty-Six Salon in Barkingside, on May 1st, to coincide with Lag B’Omer, she was pleased to be able to have grown her hair long enough to be able to donate over 8 inches. As well as using her hair to help others, the WIJPS pupil has also been raising money to support the charity. She has so far raised £1,200 which her mother Deborah is very proud of.

“Mia originally wanted to raise £550, as this how much it costs the charity to make each bespoke wig, so to be able to double her target has been really exciting for her. She has been blown away by people’s generosity and she is very grateful for all the support.”

Although Mia admits that she was ‘really nervous’ when she first went to get her hair cut, but after the chop, she was very pleased that she had done it, and would be able to help others in this way.

“I hope that what I have done can help others who may not have their own hair, and I want to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far.”
