On Wednesday 6 April, the Essex Jewish Community Council (EJCC) will be co-hosting hustings for the Redbridge Council Elections. The event will be chaired by Board of Deputies President Marie Van Der Zyl.
Local elections take place in Redbridge every four years and this year they are taking place on 5 May. The whole council is up for election and the party with the majority of elected councillors will control the council.
Redbridge has been under Labour control since 2014, with the Council led by Cllr Jas Athwal, the Leader of the Labour Group. He will be attending our hustings from the Labour Party. The Conservatives act as the opposition party and will be represented at our hustings by the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group, Cllr Howard Berlin.
Come along to the hustings, hear the parties set out their vision for your council and put your questions directly to the candidates.
This event is being run by the Essex Jewish Community Council in partnership with the London Jewish Forum, Jewish Leadership Council, Board of Deputies, Jewish News and SWESRS.
The event is aimed at the entire Redbridge Jewish community and the booking link is here: https://www.thejlc.org/ljfhustingsredbridge
