Clore Tikva School Summer Scheme

Following on from the Covid pandemic and the effect of this on children’s mental health and well-being, Clore Tikva School undertook a new initiative in addition to its very successful after school clubs and activities.

Starting with a few days over the June half term holiday, followed by three full weeks over the summer, Clore Tikva School organised, in conjunction with Premier Sports, activities in a Covid-safe environment. Dance, Lego Construction, Bike Riding, Archery, Fencing, sports of all varieties, Arts and Crafts, Capture the Flag, Spy Missions and Gymnastics were just some of the many different activities on offer.

All activities were led by professional, trained staff who ensured the children had an enjoyable and exciting experience.

It was amazing to see the children mixing with those of older and younger ages which had not been possible for so long and to watch as the older children engaged with the instructors and helped the younger children gain new skills and participate in activities that many had never experienced previously.

The scheme was open to all Clore Tikva pupils and some with specialised needs were also included.  Parents were amazed at what was on offer and at the opportunity for some of their children to join such activities which they have never previously been able to do.

It was a delight to view the sheer enjoyment, the smiles on the children’s faces and the opportunity to release their energies in a manner that ensured Clore Tikva School was looking after their mental wellbeing as well as their physical wellbeing. Such was the success of this scheme, another is planned for October Half Term and further in the holidays of 2022.
